Ladies Night In: The Perfect Excuse for Good Food, Great Friends, and a Craft
We call it “Ladies Night In”—but honestly, you can call it whatever you like. It’s really just my excuse to gather up old and new friends, indulge in some great food, and spend the evening filling our buckets.
Originally, I planned to host these little gatherings once a quarter… and I’ve got one scheduled for next week, but the last one? That was a year ago. So, yeah, life happens—but hey, something is always better than nothing!
So, what exactly is a “Ladies Night In”?
In short, it’s a themed girls’ night. Everyone chips in ($25-$35) to cover the cost of food and craft supplies. For the food, I like to keep it low-stress—because let’s be honest, moms just want to enjoy a meal & not have to worry about cleanup (even the host). I usually order Olive Garden because, well, it’s delicious. No need to stress over a fancy meal when all you want to do is unwind. My motto: there’s a time and place to get fancy, but if I’m not up till 2 a.m. scrubbing dishes, I’m happy. So we go for disposable plates and a catered dinner.
I do make some fun desserts, though, because baking is my therapy, and I absolutely love it.

The Craft & Cocktail
Every Ladies Night In has a craft and a cocktail. Last year, we sipped on Half Baked Harvest’s Haunted Pumpkin Patch Margarita (highly recommend it for your next get-together!). The craft we chose? Wreath-making. Here’s what we learned during our wreath adventure:
- It took longer than expected.
- It was harder than expected. (I won’t name names, but let’s just say… one of us gave up mid-project!)
- But, they turned out amazing—and totally worth it. Everyone had a blast, and the results were stunning!

What You Need for Wreath-Making
- 16-inch wreath bases (we used these for a nice, full look)
- Wire (one pack per person should do)
- Wire cutters (we shared these as needed)
- Velvet ribbon (for a touch of elegance)
- Greenery (Trader Joe’s had an amazing selection, and my friend who helped organize even raided her backyard for fresh cuttings!)
One key tip for next time: We spent a lot of time cutting individual pieces of wire, but in hindsight, it would have been easier just to keep wrapping the same wire around instead. Lesson learned!

Why We Love It
The best part of these nights? Anyone can invite someone new. It’s always so much fun to see new connections being made—and, of course, everyone loves sharing their wreath photos afterward. Months later, people are still sending me pictures of where they hung their creations! It’s a memory that keeps on giving.
I’ll keep you posted on this year’s holiday craft—and you bet I’ll share all the details once we’re ready. If you’ve got any craft ideas or cocktail recommendations, I’d love to hear them!
With Love, Chloe
