I’m Not a Juicing Expert… But Here’s What I’ve Learned

Let me start by saying: I’m not going to pretend I know what I’m talking about when it comes to juicing. But I will share a little of what I’ve learned—and you can take it or leave it.

This past winter, I really wanted to get more nutrients into my body in a way that didn’t involve another pill. I’m a picky eater, and the idea of juicing honestly stressed me out. Most of the juices I’ve tried in the past tasted awful. I even attempted a juice cleanse once… and lasted about five hours before tapping out. The taste alone made me gag.

Starting Small

So, I knew I needed to start small—and that’s exactly what I did: one juice. For the past six months, I’ve been consistently making the same juice, and guess what? I actually enjoy it. It’s easy, it tastes great, and making it has become a little routine I look forward to.

I didn’t want to invest in an expensive juicer right away, so I started with a basic one (and it’s worked great!). I’m not quite at the “I love juicing” stage yet, and I’ll probably need to branch out beyond this one recipe before justifying a fancier machine.

Here’s the juicer I’ve been using.

My Go-To Immunity Shot Recipe

Here’s what I make every week:

  • 5 organic oranges
  • 3–4 inches of fresh ginger
  • 1–2 inches of turmeric
  • 3 lemons
  • A few dashes of cayenne pepper

Toss everything into the juicer and you’re done! I usually store the juice in glass cups in the fridge—it lasts about 3–4 days. This recipe makes enough for 2–3 people to enjoy a shot each morning for several days.

These are the cute little juice glasses I use. (don’t mind the green juice – I tried a new recipe and wasn’t a fan…will share once I get it right)

Happy juicing!

With love,
Chloe
